Bruno Guimaraes declared he wants to become a Newcastle United legend after his match-winning double against Leicester City on Sunday.
Ademola Lookman silenced the lively St James Park crowd with his 19th-minute opener. It meant Lookman has scored on each of his last three Premier League starts, after only netting in two of his previous 22 such appearances.
However, Guimaraes bundled over the line for his first home Newcastle goal 11 minutes later, with a VAR check leading to the overruling of a foul on Kasper Schmeichel awarded by referee Jarred Gillett.
A lung-busting surge down the left flank by Joe Willock then created space in stoppage-time for Guimaraes, who profited from a deflected cross to head in and secure all three points for Eddie Howe s side.
Watford have had a £1m bid for Ben Foster rejected by West Bromwich Albion, according to the Mail Online.
The Hornets are interested in securing the services of the goalkeeper, who spent two years on loan at Vicarage Road earlier in his career though the Baggies deemed the offer unacceptable.
Foster moved to the Hawthorns initially on loan from Birmingham City in the summer of 2011 and has since racked up one hundred and eighty appearances in all competitions.
The thirty-five-year-old began his league career with Stoke City but spent most of his time with the club out on loan before switching to Manchester United in 2005.
He played twenty-three times for the Red Devils before leaving for Birmingham City while internationally he has been capped eigh…

He is probably the best left-footed player in the world, in the history of football. Savo Milosevic lauded Sinisa Mihajlovic as he rallied around his former team-mate following the Bologna head coach s cancer diagnosis.
Serbian great Mihajlovic is set to undergo treatment after revealing his battle with leukaemia on Saturday, sparking an outpour of well-wishes from players – past and present – and supporters.
Milosevic played alongside Mihajlovic at international level, the pair representing Serbia – when they were known as the former republic of Yugoslavia – at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.

Charlton head coach Michael Appleton praised the ice-cool finishing of Alfie May as his took his season’s goal tally to 17 with a double to down his former club Cheltenham at The Valley.
May was signed in the summer from the Robins to score goals. That is exactly what he is doing – and at a prolific rate.
The Charlton striker’s brace against his old employer means that he now has 29 league goals in 2023 – a figure only matched in England by Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
May struck twice from the penalty spot to see off Cheltenham.
Appleton said: “It’s difficult for him because he knows them so well – whether it is the goalkeeper or the outfield players. There was certainly more pressure on him tonight than there probably would be again…
Gary Cahill says Chelsea are riding a wave of confidence after equalling their top-flight winning record of 11 matches by beating Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Chelsea s title winners of 2009-10 were the last to reach that number and Diego Costa s winner sent the club nine points clear at the top of the Premier League.
And Cahill claims Chelsea are in bullish mood every time they take to the field under Antonio Conte.
We feel very confident, he told Sky Sports. We re a very strong team and we ve worked very hard on it.
Physically, we re in good shape and we ve got some fantastic players, so that s the reason behind it.
We re organised and we re enjoying it.
You build momentum, you win games, you step out on the pitch or you re in the tun…
Carlo Ancelotti remained coy when asked about the chances of Kylian Mbappe making his Real Madrid debut in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
Madrid won the Champions League by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in June to set up a meeting with Europa League winners Atalanta in Warsaw.
Ancelotti had previously said after a pre-season friendly that he planned on using players who had won the trophy for the Super Cup match.
Mbappe joined as a free agent in June and has now started training with the team following his extended break due to France s involvement in Euro 2024.
And though Ancelotti remained tight-lipped about how Mbappe could be used, he did not rule out a first appearance for the Frenchman in a Madrid shirt.
Mbappe has arrived well, just like…
Fulham became the third and final team to be relegated from the Premier League when they were beaten 2-0 by Burnley on Monday.
Scott Parker s side got that sinking feeling at Craven Cottage, where first-half goals from Ashley Westwood and the in-form Chris Wood – his 50th for the club – consigned them to an immediate return to the Championship.
It is the first time in Premier League history that all relegation slots have been confirmed with as many as three matches remaining.
Matej Vydra set Westwood up for the opener after 35 minutes and Wood clinically fired home his eighth goal in as many games to leave Fulham shellshocked just before the break.
3+ Fulham’s defeat means all three/four teams have been relegated with as many as three games remain…
Neymar has won the Samba d Or for the third time in his career.
The award, which recognises the best Brazilian player in Europe and is voted for by fans, journalists and a selection of former players, was previously won by the Paris Saint-Germain superstar in 2014 and 2015 during his time at Barcelona.
It means Neymar joins club team-mate Thiago Silva with three victories in the poll, which launched with inaugural winner Kaka in 2008.
Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho – still touted as a potential Camp Nou replacement for Neymar – won in 2016 and came second overall this time around, with Real Madrid full-back Marcelo coming in third ahead of Paulinho, Casemiro and Gabriel Jesus.
