Jose Mourinho has confirmed Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to action before the end of the year, as the Manchester United manager hit out at England and rival clubs over Phil Jones.
Ibrahimovic tore his anterior cruciate ligament in April to place his career and United future in doubt.
But the 36-year-old forward has recovered swiftly from the serious injury and is closing in on a first-team comeback.
Mourinho suggested last month the former Sweden international could be back this year and the Portuguese boss is now certain of that timescale.
He is a lion, he is a fighter, Mourinho told Sky Sports, amid reports that Ibrahimovic and fellow long-term absentee Paul Pogba could be in contention to return as early as Saturday s match at home to Newcastle Unit…

Each city is more than prepared for the thousands of spectators that will embark upon South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. Visitors can expect newly constructed stadiums, upgraded stadiums, tight security in place, and the welcoming of the residents that wish to make all visitors stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
The Favorites
The two teams who start as favorites around the world are Brazil and Spain. Of course, in England favorites are of course England themselves. I do not think you would find that anywhere else in the world though!
Spain looks to be the most favored side…
Kylian Mbappe considered retiring from France duty after being criticised for his displays at Euro 2020, according to French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel Le Graet.
The 23-year-old failed to score in any of his four outings in last year s competition, with France surprisingly being eliminated by Switzerland in the last 16.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe missed the decisive spot-kick as the reigning world champions suffered a shock defeat on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra time.
Mbappe was subjected to much of the criticism at the time, and FFF chief Le Graet has revealed just how much that affected the former Monaco star.
I met with him after the Euros. He felt that the Federation had not defended him after his missed penalty an…

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to the rested Tennessee Titans as 3.5-point underdogs Saturday afternoon. The Bengals’ D-line is getting healthier, which is good news, as Derrick Henry is set to make his return after an 11-week hiatus and a successful recovery from foot surgery.
Will Henry see a full workload in his first game since Week 8? Can Joe Burrow carve up this Titans’ pass defense that ranks fifth in dropback success rate since Week 10? Find out in our Bengals vs. Titans free props and predictions.

The Minnesota Vikings host the New York Giants in NFL Wild Card action on Sunday. These teams also clashed three weeks ago in Minny, with the Vikes winning 27-24.
While both teams will make adjustments, I do expect history to repeat itself in a few areas. That’s why I’m backing Richie James and T.J. Hockenson to duplicate their success, while Dalvin Cook should benefit from the possible return of a key teammate. Our Giants vs. Vikings picks and predictions expect Hock to find the end zone while I’m looking elsewhere in a great matchup for the tight end.
Here are my best free NFL prop picks for the Giants vs. Vikings on January 15.

The Dallas Cowboys return to primetime just one week after a 32-point beatdown and now face the Los Angeles Chargers in our Monday Night Football odds, who are winners of two straight and come with fresh legs off of their bye.
Adding extra juice to tonight’s Week 6 odds finale is offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who landed with the Chargers this offseason after being let go from the Cowboys after last season.
What will Kellen Moore cook up for Justin Herbert and this Chargers offense? Will Mike McCarthy have an answer on his side to stick it to his old offensive coordinator?
We broke down the matchup in our Cowboys vs. Chargers predictions but keep reading for more free NFL picks for Monday Night Football below — also, be sure to check ou…
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will try to punch their ticket to the playoffs on Sunday with a win against the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs control their destiny with a victory clinching the NFC South and they couldn’t ask for a better opponent with the 2-14 Panthers having the worst record in the league entering Week 18.
NFL odds for this showdown opened with the Bucs as 5.5-point favorites before shortening to -4.5. Here are my best free NFL picks and predictions for the Buccaneers vs. Panthers on Sunday, January 7.

Early spread leanBills -5.5 (-115 at FanDuel)
My analysis
If you read my Sunday night column, “Bet Now, Bet Later” you already know I’m on the Buffalo Bills after this spread opened as low as -5. As of Monday morning, most shops are at Bills -6 but there are a handful dealing an expensive -5.5.
Millie Chandarana has come a long way since that rather unfortunate day when she had a trial for the boys’ school team. “I was eight years old and I scored a goal from the halfway line … but into the wrong net,” she says, laughing. “Afterwards my teacher told me I was good enough to join the local girls’ team but not the boys’ team just yet.”
Chandarana did not let that mishap deter her. Only a few months later she had convinced the coach for the boys’ team at school that she was good enough to play with them. The rest, as they say, is history and she now plays for UPC Tavagnacco in Italy.
The midfielder is one of few British Asian women – or men – who has made it to the top in football but she…
